About me

I live and work in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

I was brought up in Gloucestershire. A year or so after studying for my BA (hons) in Jewellery at Central School of Art, London, I returned in 1985 to set up my first workshop. I later moved to Stroud, which is where I have my current studio.

In May 2008 I was one of five makers in the South West who were awarded a Bursary by the Crafts Council, Arts Council England South West, ArtsMatrix, Devon Guild of Craftsmen and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. The bursary lasted for ten months and with the help of mentors, I was able to refresh my creative practice exploring new ideas through drawing and a playful use of materials. This experience has had a significant effect on my practice and approach to it. I am currently spending time developing my ideas that have been generated during that period.

Exhibitions:

2009 ‘RE-ROUTE’ Devon Guild of Craftsmen 14th March – 26th April addresses challenges faced by five mid-career makers awarded a contemporary craft fellowship. Drawing together research, personal explorations and findings, the exhibition represents the culmination of their 10 month fellowships.
