This Brooch is made using wet vitreous enamel and the sgrafitto technique, where the enamel design is scratched away, to reveal a layer of enamel before it is fired in a hot kiln.
It is then rubbed down to reveal more of the drawn design and to give a matt finish.
The inspiration for this series was a mono-print drawing I made of tracks in the snow left by animals and tractors and fence posts
The brooch measures 49mm x 45mm
The double-pin is made from stainless steel, and allows the brooch to be worn any way up, securely, as long as the pins are put into the silver 'cuffs' once attached to the garment
