The initial design for this brooch was inspired by the chased pattern work I saw on some fire-side steel pokers at the Arts & Crafts house, ‘Rodmarton Manor’ in Gloucestershire, UK
I love the ‘worn’ pattern-work of this piece, it really fits my aesthetic. It feels lovely to the touch, with a smooth, brushed satin finish.
There is a double stainless steel pin on the reverse for attaching to clothing, which enables the wearer to pin it any way up securely. It will sit happily on a jacket or felted material. It’s not suitable for a fine knitted fabric, unless an under-garment is caught in the pin as well, this gives extra stability and is how I tend to wear mine on finer fabrics.
The brooch measures 53mm x 46mm
